Police were called to the 200 block of Jefferson Street around 8:15 a.m. for a domestic dispute, prosecutors said in a release.
They arrived to find 42-year-old Derek Sherer dead from a gunshot wound, the DA's Office said. The shooter remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators, according to officials.
"The initial investigation found that the incident is domestic in nature, and there is no danger to the public at this time," the release says.
East Greenville Borough Police, Montgomery County Detectives, and Pennsylvania State Police are investigating. The Montgomery County Coroner's Office was also on the scene.
